Young People's Groups
On every Sunday during term time except the first Sunday of each
month, we have young people's groups which meet during the adult
service. On the second, fourth and fifth Sundays of each month,
the children meet in groups according to their age after spending a
short period of worship with the adult church. Scramblers
For those aged 3 to 5. Climbers
For those aged 5 to 8 Explorers
For those aged 8 to 11. In Explorers,
we aim to 'explore' the Bible creatively and in a lively, engaging way
through organised, fun and safe activities which include games, quizzes,
drama etc. We believe that young people can discover Jesus in a personal
way and grow in faith at an age when the world presents many challenges
for them.
If you are between 8 and 11 years old, then come along one Sunday
morning to join our club for a great time. You will be made very
welcome.
Our Explorers group have produced this fine piece of artwork for the
website which sums up what they are about. Pathfinders
This is our group for 11-13 year olds.
The Pathfinder Shield defines what we are about:
The Cross of St Andrew. One of Jesus' disciples, Andrew, is
the example for all Pathfinders. Why? Because
he found the right path through life. He found and followed Jesus and
then introduced his brother, Peter, to Jesus. Look at: John 1:35-42
The Signpost. Like a signpost at a crossroads, the Cross is
where Jesus died to set us on the right road—to God. By His death,
Jesus made it possible for our sins to be forgiven and for us to enjoy
God's help and friendship as we journey through life. We have to choose
whether to take this road or to follow our own path. Read and learn: 1
John 1:9:1 Peter 3:18
The Book. Travellers read guide books and maps to guide them
along the right road, and to show their the type of country through
which they will be passing. The Bible is like that for a Christian. As
we read it. God speaks to us and guides the traveller. The Bible shows
us the type of life we can expect and how God wants us to live this
life.
Read and learn: 2 Timothy 3:16; Joshua 1:7, 8
The Flame. A traveller needs a light to show him the way on
his journey. The flame reminds us of the Holy Spirit, whom God promises
to all Christians. He is in us to give us the strength to travel along
God's path, to see the way He wants us to go and to make Jesus more real
to us.
Read and learn: John 14:16, 17.26;Acts 1:8 Look at: Acts 2:1 -4
The Rope. When travellers have mountains to climb. they rope
themselves together for safety and to help each other. The rope reminds
us of the Love that binds Christians to Christ and to each other.
Christians need the help of each other as they travel along God's path
together. That is one reason why Christians link up with their local
church. Read and learn: John 15:12; Romans 8:37. 38; Colossians 3:14
Urban Saints
A new home group for teenagers that meets on Sundays at 5pm
Kidz Church
Our 3 - 9 year olds come together for Kidz Church on the third Sunday
of each month. They have their own page.
We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD.
