Hilife Construction (http://www.hilifeconstruction.biz/) have been appointed to design and build the new St Andrew's Church Centre. Final services in our old building took took place on 28th June. We will continue to meet in the adjacent school hall until work is complete on our new building.

How can our new centre serve Furnace Green?

We have been speaking with various experts but would welcome your views and comments. The new Church Centre will include :

  • Large auditorium
  • Seating for 350
  • Modern Audio Visual Equipment
  • High quality movable seating
  • Underfloor heating
  • Multipurpose first floor function room
  • Café/informal meeting area
  • Small meeting room
  • Fully fitted kitchen
  • Additional car parking

Why are we rebuilding?

The old building, despite being only 40 years old, had suffered severely from a leaking felt roof which had damaged the fabric over the 40 years so much that it had become beyond economic repair.

Who is the new building for?

We hope it will be a place for you, the people of Furnace Green and beyond, to come and use the facilities. There will be a café, a space for quiet reflection and prayer, and other meeting rooms which will be available for hire.

Where has the funding come from?

The building project has predominantly been funded by members of St Andrew's Church, and a number of people from the Furnace Green community who have also given generously towards the project.

What is St Andrews Church?

When we talk about the church, we often think of the building, but the real Church is actually the church members. At St Andrew's, we aim to be a friendly, welcoming church community which is relevant to all ages. We are a people who really want to live by faith and trust in God, and we see the new church as an answer to prayer. The members of St Andrew's Church are to be found throughout the Furnace Green community, so if you want to know more about the Church have a word with them. Alternatively you would be more than welcome to simply turn up on a Sunday morning as we meet in the school hall at 10.30 am.

In the summer of 2010 the new St Andrew's Church will be opened to serve the local community, the school community and the Christian community of Furnace Green. We would like to thank you for your continuing interest, encouragement and support.
