Holy Trinity is a family centred, evangelical neighbourhood church with a strong sense of community.

Holiday times can be a great blessing, very stressful or a combination of both.  Some will be preparing to travel to far away places; some to a favourite spot somewhere in the UK whilst others will be simply taking time out at home.  Whatever your plans, we all seek something different from routine; perhaps even taking the opportunity to do something daring or just simply to relax!

In our very busy world of pressure and stress there is an even greater need to take time out to recharge our batteries.  With stress related illnesses on the increase, it is more necessary and important than ever to ensure our minds and bodies are given the opportunity to rest from the demands our western lifestyle imposes upon us.  More and more I see people working over lunch with their laptop beside their sandwiches in fast food restaurants and as they travel to and from the workplace on the train - the working day grows ever longer with little respite and in many cases little recognition.

Holidays above all else should be enjoyable and relaxing enabling our stressed out minds and bodies to rejuvenate and benefit from the whole experience.  There is an even greater need to ensure our spiritual well-being is rejuvenated, something that is often neglected, even forgotten.  Whilst a relaxed mind and fit body are important if we are to live life to the demands placed upon us in society, it is vital our spiritual well-being is constantly fed and nourished if we are to live a life that is worthy of God's calling.  Remember holidays should also be holy days in which we allow God to refresh us in ways we cannot determine. Feed on him daily through his word in scripture; rest in his presence, take time to talk to him in prayer and just as importantly - take time to listen!
